What kind of thoughts do you think about yourself? Are they positive or negative? Are you self critical? Do you know that negative thoughts about yourself are a symptom of unthankfulness? This verse in its entirety says "I will thank the Lord, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
When we nitpick ourselves, whether it is our personality, our intelligence, or our appearance, we are telling God that what he created isn't good enough. That we don't appreciate the love, time, and attention He put into every detail of our being.
We are also demonstrating pride when we tell Him we're not good enough- we're telling Him that our opinion is more important than His! He loves us and created us in His image, and His image is perfect!
Changing this type of "stinking thinking" can be hard, but it is possible. It comes down to asking God every day what He thinks about you, and living the picture He shows you. True humility is agreeing with God's opinion of you, and He thinks you are wonderful!
